About us
Irish, Dutch, Brit & Italian: Female-fronted Barren Sea does grunge, slowcore and shoegaze. Balancing a big yet intimate sound, without fear of getting loud, rarely without a political note to it.
Their EP The War on Cars, traces the emotional healing from a near-fatal accident suffered by lead singer Marie. Moving through fear, anger, confusion, empathy and love, the record captures songs that are vulnerable without losing their edge.
At its core, Barren Sea’s purpose is to bring emotional transformation. Time for feeling is scarce, and so the group brings it back to the table.
